following in the footsteps of other tales of series games, tales of graces f was followed by a portable game that was released to the nintendo dsi shop. this game was initially to be known as tales of alchemists but was later revealed to be an alternate title to tales of zestiria. it was developed by the team behind taiko: master of monsters, with its graphics and designs by takumi miyajima, who was the director of the tales of xillia and tales of berseria games. unlike its predecessors, this tales of game emphasized action-rpg combat. it was a big change of direction for the series, as its previous entries were largely character driven stories and had focused on exploration and side quests. however, this game allowed the player to fully customize characters and fight in combat. it, however, wasnt as loved by the tales of community as taiko.while tales of zestiria was considered the definitive tales of game, it wasnt a perfect game. with so much added content, the game wasnt as balanced, the gameplay wasnt nearly as good, and the story wasnt as great as it was in the ps2 and pc games. the story starts off really well, with some cool character designs, and a good sense of humour. however, about half way through, the storyline gets really boring, and the game slows down a lot. a lack of combat speed, better battle systems, and a mediocre soundtrack only really brought this aspect down.
