[S8E13] Do It Yourself
Feeling empowered after his successful do-it-yourself project, Phil convinces Jay to co-invest in a property he has always wanted to develop. Meanwhile, Claire's new obsession with a TV chef and her new love of cooking Sunday dinners hasn't been as tasty as she thinks. Haley is the family's only hope to add a little spice to the situation. At the Pritchett-Tucker House, Cam and Mitchell see that the family is too reliant on technology, so they attempt to teach Lily the importance of hard work, which ends disastrously. Back at the Pritchett's, Jay feels replaced when he sees Gloria has hired Coach Gary to coach Joe and serve as a handyman.[2]

Bailey tells her patient and his wife that the Chief of Staff took over the surgery. They don't understand why. Alex steps in and tells them to think of it as a huge upgrade. They've just been handed the keys to a Jaguar, while they'd been driving a civic. Ellis walks in and introduces herself. She explains the procedure quickly. She gives them consent forms and gives them no time to ask questions or whatsoever. Before Ellis leaves, Alex asks her if he can scrub in. Of course, she'd love to have him. "See, you have to speak up for yourself," Alex says to Bailey, after which he leaves. Barry, the patient, asks if Bailey can explain what that woman just said. However, Bailey has noticed something in the chart and wanders off.
Bones and Booth head to Green Passages and meet the director, who is shocked to discover that fellow "end of life consultant" Rachel is dead. Crying, he explains that Rachel was his business partner and friend. Turns out Rachel, a free spirit, often disappeared for weeks at a time on periods of self discovery, so she was never reported as missing. Back at the lab, Daisy is modeling her behavior after Bones by focusing on work and acting largely without emotion. "Wow," Hodgins comments. "You really have pulled yourself together."
