this movie is a travesty of the "life lessons" genre. it's a series of lessons, many of them about self-destructive behavior, but they are delivered by a comedy team that is so bland and so contrary to the lesson that it's impossible to take seriously. the film is filled with scenes that are difficult to watch, such as the ones where the lovers get into arguments, and every single one of them is filled with wry and hysterical humor. the worst of the lot is when one of the lovers accidentally leaves a bunch of condoms in a car and drives away. the scene is filled with hysterical humor as he loses the condoms everywhere and the police search the car. this scene is filled with eye-rolling and belly laughs and the scene is delivered by the actors so that it comes off like a joke, when it's meant to be a serious scene. so the lesson of this film is "you can't trust the guy who's wearing his condom in his wallet."
